According to the latest news, Donald Trump failed to win a trial in China concerning the opening of his own brand under the resounding name Trump. The court proceedings lasted for quite a long time, reputable lawyers were hired, but still the luck turned away from the applicant.

The High People’s Court in Beijing ruled to dismiss Trump’s claims. As a result, the company Liaoning, with which the president was suing, received the right to continue operations under its own brand.

Trump lost brand in China

The company Liaoning is engaged in construction and has no connection with the business of Donald Trump. Despite this, the decision in favor of this company was still made. As a result, the new president will have to not only accept the fact that another company will operate under the name Trump, but also to cover the costs of judicial actions. In addition, he is obliged to pay 200 yuan.

Nevertheless, Trump does not give up and tries to challenge the right to register this trademark by another company since 2015. However, representatives of the Chinese patent bureau seem to be specifically blocking Trump’s entry into this country's market. They argue their actions at once for several reasons.

The trademark office in China’s industry and trade made a statement regarding Trump’s unregistered designation. It said that his TM was not able to be registered in 2006, since at that time an application from the company Liaoning had already been submitted to the Trump brand. The Chinese authorities believe that Liaoning pursed the application first. Some experts consider this statement doubtful, since the case was back in 2006, and the information in the archive of the court was published quite recently.

Trump lost trademark

Donald Trump does not leave attempts to enter the Chinese market. He has already managed to offer several different variations for the brand, so that it could still be registered. For example, this is Trump Tower for a chain of hotels and catering establishments, Trump Estates for a property management company, Trump Home for furniture production. Despite all the efforts, none of the proposed designations was registered. But businessmen from China successfully used the ideas of failed companies.

For example, the corporation Shenzhen Trump Industrial manufactures sanitary ware and toilet seats under the brand name Trump. The company itself explains its actions by the fact that it was founded back in 2002, and in 2004 the official registration of the TRMP trademark took place.

Four days after the official victory of the Trump in the elections in the United States, he was in for a surprise. All applications relating to Trump trademarks filed back in 2014 received preliminary confirmation.
